Mu'adz bin 'Abdullah bin Khubaib narrated to us from his father from his uncle who said; We were at a party and then the Messenger of Allah SAW came, there was water in his hair, we said; O Messenger of Allah! We saw the Prophet was happy. The Prophet SAW said: "True." Then people discuss wealth. The Prophet SAW said: "There is nothing wrong with wealth for those who fear Allah and health for those who fear Allah is better (than wealth) and the happiness of the soul is part of the enjoyment."
(Musnad Ahmad No: 22144)
Status: Sahih Hadith
Lessons:
1. The wealth that one possesses is not blameworthy as long as it is managed in a pious manner.
2. Allah-fearing owners will ensure the source of their property is clean and halal in addition to fulfilling their rights to their property such as zakat and almsgiving.
3. The rich people are criticized when they do not fulfill their property rights and never feel satisfied with what they have.
From Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Ash, the Prophet SAW said, "Indeed, the person who has converted to Islam is very fortunate, given enough sustenance and Allah makes him feel satisfied (qanaah) with what is given to him."
(HR Muslim no: 1746)
4. The health possessed by a person who fears God is better than wealth. Owned health cannot be exchanged for money and property.
5. The happiness of the soul (peace, tranquility and spaciousness) is part of the wealth of the enjoyment of life.
6. Having money and wealth does not guarantee peace of mind.
Let them have wealth, as long as they have the quality of qanaah (feeling enough) and are always grateful by fulfilling their property rights and the soul of the property owner always feels calm and happy.
