Charity According To Priority

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَصَدَّقُوا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عِنْدِي دِينَارٌ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي آخَرُ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى زَوْجَتِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي آخَرُ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى وَلَدِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي آخَرُ قَالَ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى خَادِمِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي آخَرُ قَالَ أَنْتَ أَبْصَرُ

تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ عَلَى خَادِمِكَ قَالَ عِنْدِي  اخَرُ قَالَ أَنْتَ أَبْصَرُ 

From Abu Hurairah RA he said;  The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Give charity all of you", then someone said, O Messenger of Allah, I only have one dinar, he replied: "Give charity with it for yourself," he said: I have another, he said: "Give charity to your wife," he said: I have  the other, he said: "Give charity to your son," he said I have another, he said: "Give charity to your servant," he said I have another, he said: "You know better who has the right to be given."

Status: Hasan Sahih 

Learnings:

1. Rasulullah SAW recommends that we give charity if we have wealth.  Whatever is spent on others, it will be rewarded with rewards of charity. 

2. If we have property or money, spend it on the needs according to priority: 

a.  Oneself by fulfilling the rights of the body such as food and clothing which is mandatory. If there is a surplus, it can be given to; 

b.  Wife (the wife's needs are the responsibility of the husband whether it is obligatory or non-obligatory). If there is a surplus it can be given to; 

c.  Children (children's needs such as food, education, etc.), If there is a surplus, it can be given to; 

d.  Assistant.  If there is a surplus it can be given to; 

e.  Those whom you feel worthy and entitled to it according to priority. 

Let's give charity according to priority to those who deserve it.
