Providence To Children Becomes The Protector From Hell Fire

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ دَخَلَتْ امْرَأَةٌ مَعَهَا ابْنَتَانِ لَهَا تَسْأَلُ فَلَمْ تَجِدْ عِنْدِي شَيْئًا غَيْرَ تَمْرَةٍ فَأَعْطَيْتُهَا إِيَّاهَا فَقَسَمَتْهَا بَيْنَ ابْنَتَيْهَا وَلَمْ تَأْكُلْ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ قَامَتْ فَخَرَجَتْ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْنَا فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ مَنْ ابْتُلِيَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْبَنَاتِ بِشَيْءٍ كُنَّ لَهُ سِتْرًا مِنْ النَّارِ 

From 'Aishah RA said;  A woman with her two daughters came to me to ask for something but I had nothing but a date so I gave it to her. Then the woman divided the dates into two parts which she gave to her two daughters while she did not eat a single bit. Then the woman stood up to leave immediately. That's when the Prophet SAW came to us, and I told him the problem, and he said: "Whoever is tested by something from the presence of his daughters (then he does good to them), then they will be a protector for him from the hell fire".

Status: Sahih Hadith 

Learnings:

1. It is the parents' responsibility to provide for the needs of family members, especially children, including food, clothing, shelter, education and so on. 

2. A good soleh parent will put the needs of his children first even if he has to 'tie his stomach" (refrain from eating). 

3. Parents who take pains to provide food or provide necessities such as funding for learning and others to their children, will be an investment in protecting them from hell fire. 

4. Strive to provide the needs of family members.
