Five Sunnah (Practices) of Fitrah (Human Nature)

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رِوَايَةً الْفِطْرَةُ خَمْسٌ أَوْ خَمْسٌ مِنْ الْفِطْرَةِ الْخِتَانُ وَالِاسْتِحْدَادُ وَنَتْفُ الْإِبْطِ وَتَقْلِيمُ الْأَظْفَارِ وَقَصُّ الشَّارِبِ

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Messenger (pbuh) said, ‘Five practices are characteristics of the Fitra: circumcision, shaving the pubic region, plucking out hair under the armpit, clipping the nails and cutting the moustaches short.’

Lessons:

1. Islam asks its ummah to always be clean. 

2. Amongst the practices of fitrah in the Sunnah is cleansing ourselves as such:

a. Circumcising

b. Shaving pubic regions

c. Plucking armpit hair

d. Clipping nails 

e. Cutting moustaches short

Let us nurture this Sunnah of fitrah in our character and make certain that we always adhere to cleanliness!
