It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: "There are three supplications that will undoubtedly be answered: the supplication of one who has been wronged; the supplication of the traveler; and the supplication of a father for his child."

Lessons:
1) To make du’a is an act of worship
2) There are three groups of people whose du’a are answered:
a. The du’a of those who have been treated unjustly
b. The du’a of travellers
c. The du’a of parents for their children
Thus, parents should only make good supplications for their children and avoid uttering bad words towards them as these may also be considered as supplications and be answered.
