The Supplication Angels Say 'Amen' To

 عَنْ صَفْوَانَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ  عَنْ أُمَّ الدَّرْدَاءِ فَقَالَتْ أَتُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ الْعَامَ فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَتْ فَادْعُ اللَّهَ لَنَا بِخَيْرٍ فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ دَعْوَةُ الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمِ لِأَخِيهِ بِظَهْرِ الْغَيْبِ مُسْتَجَابَةٌ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ مَلَكٌ مُوَكَّلٌ كُلَّمَا دَعَا لِأَخِيهِ بِخَيْرٍ قَالَ الْمَلَكُ الْمُوَكَّلُ بِهِ آمِينَ وَلَكَ بِمِثْلٍ 

قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ إِلَى السُّوقِ فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ فَقَالَ لِي مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ يَرْوِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏. 

Safwan (and he was Ibn 'Abdullah b. Safwan, and he had been married to Umm Darda') reported: 

I visited Abu Darda's house in Syria. I did not find him there but Umm Darda' (was present at the house). She said, "Do you intend to perform Hajj this year?" 

I said, "Yes." 

She said, "Make du'a to ALLAH for blessings upon us, for verily the Prophet (pbuh) has said, 'A prayer of a man for his brother behind his back (in his absence), will have the prayer responded to by the angel commissioned by his head. So long as he prays for blessings for his brother, the angel will say, "Amin, and for you the same." ' " 

I then went to the market and met Abu Darda' and he narrated like this from the Prophet (pbuh).

Grade: Sahih 

Lesson: 

1.  Among the best times for supplication is during travel. 

2.  Supplicating to ALLAH for a friend from afar without his/her knowledge results in angels saying, 'Amen' to that supplication.  

3.  The angels supplicate to ALLAH for people who supplicate to Him for others with the same prayer.  

Let us supplicate and pray to ALLAH to bless our friends. The angels will pray for the same for us.
