Supplication When Leaving One’s Home

 عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ مَا خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ بَيْتِي قَطُّ إِلاَّ رَفَعَ طَرْفَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَقَالَ ‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أُضَلَّ أَوْ أَزِلَّ أَوْ أُزَلَّ أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَىّ

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) never went out of my house without raising his eye to the sky and saying: "O Allah! I seek refuge in Thee lest I stray or be led astray, or slip or made to slip, or cause injustice, or suffer injustice, or do wrong, or have wrong done to me."

Lessons: 

1.  Rasulullah (pbuh) is the best example to be followed in various aspects. 

2.  This is another supplication taught by Rasulullah (pbuh) that can be read when one leaves home:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أَزِلَّ أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ 

O Allah, I seek refuge with You from going astray or stumbling, from wronging others or being wronged, and from behaving or being treated in an ignorant manner.
