Avoiding Oppression And Stinginess

Jabir b. Abdullah reported that Allah's Messenger (pbuh) said: Be on your guard against committing injustice, for injustice is a darkness on the Day of Resurrection, and be on your guard against stinginess, for stinginess destroyed those who were before you, as it incited them to shed blood and make lawful what was unlawful for them.

- Sahih Muslim

Lessons:

1. Islam forbids the act of injustice towards all living creatures

2. Those who are unjust in this world will receive severe punishments in the Hereafter

3. One should avoid stinginess as this trait can lead to disruption of society’s fabric

Let us refrain from injustice and stinginess as they are odious in the sight of Allah S.W.T.!
