عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يُبْسَطَ عَلَيْهِ فِي رِزْقِهِ وَيُنْسَأَ فِي أَثَرِهِ فَلْيَصِلْ رَحِمَهُ
From Anas RA, it said; Rasulullah SAW said: "Whoever wants to expand his sustenance and prolong his life, then he should continue maintaining ties (kinship)."
(Sunan Abu Daud No: 1443)
Status: Sahih Hadith
Learnings:
1. Among the happiness of a person is when living in an atmosphere of mutual love among members of the community.
2. Mutual love is required in maintaining close relationships, especially with family members such as parents, siblings, mother and uncle, cousins and others.
3. Among the advantages of Muslims who always maintain close relationships:
a. Expanded sustenance
b. Extended life (blessed age in good health and good deeds).
4. Imam Nawawi explained the hadith: expanded and made his wealth abundant. According to other opinions, it means to be blessed with wealth. (See Syarh al-Nawawi 'ala Sahih Muslim, 16/114)
5. While in the hadith from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari R.A, the Prophet SAW was once asked about the deeds that can enter heaven, then Rasulullah SAW replied:
تَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ لاَ تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلاَةَ وَتُؤْتِى الزَّكَاةَ وَتَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ
"Worship Allah and do not commit shirk to Him, establish prayer, pay zakat and build ties of friendship.
(HR Bukhari No: 5983)
6. Imam Nawawi said: "As for the meaning of silaturahim, it is doing good to relatives according to the condition of the person who wants to connect and the condition of the person who wants to be connected. Sometimes in the form of kindness with alms, sometimes by providing physical assistance, sometimes by visiting him, by greeting him, and so on." (See al-Minhaj fi Sharh Sahih Muslim Ibn al-Hajjaj, 1/287)
Let us maintain friendship and family ties with siblings and other family members.
