عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " لَمَّا عُرِجَ بِي مَرَرْتُ بِقَوْمٍ لَهُمْ أَظْفَارٌ مِنْ نُحَاسٍ يَخْمُشُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَصُدُورَهُمْ فَقُلْتُ: مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ يَا جِبْرِيلُ قَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ لُحُومَ النَّاسِ وَيَقَعُونَ فِي أَعْرَاضِهِمْ
From Anas bin Malik RA, the Messenger of Allah SAW said: 'When I was raised to the sky (on the night of Isra and Mikraj), I passed by a group of people who had copper nails and they scratched their faces and chests, so I said: Who are they O Jibril? Jibril answered: They are the people who eat human flesh (gossiper) and humiliate their dignity."

Status: Sahih Hadith
Learnings:
1. Islam is a religion that emphasises morals and commendable manners
2. Islam prohibits its people from bad manners such as gossiping and humiliating others.
3. Rasulullah SAW was shown on the night of Isra and mikraj a group of people who had nails made of copper and they tortured themselves by scratching their faces and chests. Jibril told that they do so because while in the world they gossip and humiliated other Muslims.
4. People who like to humiliate whether through writing, tiktok and others, actually without realising that they are showing their true self. The more gossip he spreads, the more obvious the badness of the spreader himself. Allah swt warns about this group:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ أَن تَشِيعَ ٱلۡفَٰحِشَةُ فِي ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ١٩
Indeed, those who like to publicise bad accusations among the believers, they will have an indescribable punishment in this world and in the hereafter and (remember) Allah knows (everything) while you do not know.
(An-Nur: 19)
Believers need to take care not to gossip and humiliate others to the point of being the cause of being tortured in the afterlife by scratching their own chest and face.
