Misconduct Invites God's Punishment

عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهِمْ بِالْمَعَاصِي هُمْ أَعَزُّ وَأَكْثَرُ مِمَّنْ يَعْمَلُهُ لَمْ يُغَيِّرُوهُ إِلَّا عَمَّهُمْ اللَّهُ بِعِقَابٍ 

From Ubaidullah bin Jarir on the authority of his father that the Prophet SAW said: "There is not a people among them who commit immorality, while they are nobler and have a greater number than those who commit it, but they do not change their evil behavior,  then Allah will make his punishment equal to them."

(HR Ahmad No: 18433)

Status: Hadith Hasan 

Learnings:

1. The responsibility of preventing evil is obligatory on every believer as a proof of their faith. 

2. If evil is left unchecked and unprevented, evil and ugliness will spread on this earth. 

3. If evil is rampant without any effort to prevent it from the believers, Allah SWT will certainly bring down calamity and punishment on all. 

4. Rasulullah SAW gave a warning to the believers who allow immorality without being prevented by the threat of torture during life. 

عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَكُونُ فِي قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهِمْ بِالْمَعَاصِي يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْ يُغَيِّرُوا عَلَيْهِ فَلَا يُغَيِّرُوا إِلَّا أَصَابَهُمْ اللَّهُ بِعَذَابٍ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَمُوتُوا 

From Jarir he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "There is no man who commits a sin among a people, while they are able to change that sin and do not do it, then Allah will punish them before they die."

(HR Abu Daud No: 3776)

Status: Hadith Hassan 

Donl not let immorality happen without us trying to stop or prevent it.
