Having The Traits of Politeness And Shyness

Yunus told us he said, Abdurrahman bin Ubay said, Ashajj bin Ashr said, "The Messenger of Allah SAW said to me: "Indeed you have two qualities that are both loved by Allah 'azza wajalla." I asked, "What kind of qualities are they?"  His Majesty replied, "Al Hilm (polite, not easily angered) and shyness." I asked again, "Have those two qualities been with me for a long time or just recently?" He replied: "For a long time." I said, "All praise to Allah who has given me two qualities that He loves."
(Musnad Ahmad No: 17160)
Status: Sahih Hadith

Learnings:
1. Two qualities that Allah loves for those who own them:
a.  Al-Hilm is politeness, being able to hold back emotions or not getting angry easily
b.  Shyness is a trait that prompts a person to leave all bad words, actions and attitudes that can prevent him from negligence.

2. Among the forms of shyness:
a.  Shyness to commit a sin like bad-mouthing
b.  Shyness on feeling weak
c.  Shyness on yourself

3. Shyness is the source of faith.  Hadith of the Prophet SAW:

Shyness and faith are the same, when one of them is lost, then the other will also be lost
(HR al-Hakim and Tabrani)

4. Let us have a good faith with shyness from committing sins such as the sin of quarreling and slandering.

5. Let us have the character of hilm (capable of holding back emotions or not being easily angered) and shyness that Allah loves.
