Narrated by Abu Huraira:
A man asked the Prophet, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! What kind of charity is the best?" He replied. "To give in charity when you are healthy and greedy hoping to be wealthy and afraid of becoming poor. Don't delay giving in charity till the time when you are on the death bed when you say, 'Give so much to so-and- so and so much to so-and so,' and at that time the property is not yours but it belongs to so-and-so (i.e. your inheritors).

Learnings:
1. The greatest reward for almsgiving is when we are healthy and love for our wealth (stingy), we fear that the wealth will be decreased when we give alms and we dream of accumulating it to become rich.
2. Charity should not be postponed for fear of death approaching us any time.
3. So give alms immediately, don't wait until your life is at your throat. When we die, the wealth left behind will be an inherited property, not ours. When it becomes someone else's right, it does not benefit the deceased.
