It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There are people who fast and get nothing from their fast except hunger, and there are those who pray (at night) and get nothing from their prayer but a sleepless night.”

Lessons:
1. Fasting and prayer are forms of worship that draw servants closer to Allah.
2. They should be performed thoroughly and with sincerity.
3. Imperfection and insincerity will cause fasting to be nothing but hunger and thirst and prayer to be nothing but tiredness.
May these acts of worship be performed in the best way possible and with utmost sincerity.
