Teaching Our Children To Pray

Sabrah bin Ma'bad al-Juhni narrated that: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Teach the boy Salat (prayer) when he is seven years old, and beat him (if he does not pray) when he is ten."

Lessons:
1. Teach children to pray at a young age. Encourage them to pray together with us and/or in a congregation.

2. The process of teaching children to pray (with utmost patience and determination) can be started at the age of seven. It takes three years to educate and train them to pray, instilling a sense of responsibility.

3. When children have reached 10 years of age and do not pray, we should discipline them accordingly.

4. Love our children and give them a proper upbringing. Three years should be allotted for unconditional love, persuasion, and nurturing. After that, they should be made to understand the repercussions of leaving obligatory prayer.

Let us educate our children to perform Salat properly.
