3) Worshipping on Lailatul Qadr is Expiation of Past Sins

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏من قام ليلة القدر إيمانا واحتسابًا *غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه‏*"‏‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whosoever stands (worship) during Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Decree), with Faith and being hopeful of Allah's reward, will have his *previous sins forgiven*."

4) Du'a/Supplication for Forgiveness on Lailatul Qadr

وعنها قالت‏:‏ قلت‏:‏ يا رسول الله أرأيت إن علمت أي ليلة القدر ما أقول فيها‏؟‏ قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏قولي‏:‏ *اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعفُ عني‏*"‏ ‏

(‏‏(‏رواه الترمذي وقال حديث حسن صحيح‏)‏‏)‏

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:

I asked: "O Messenger of Allah! If I realize Lailat-ul-Qadr (Night of Decree), what should I supplicate in it?" He (ﷺ) replied, "You should supplicate: *Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun, tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni (O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me)*."
