Safwan bin 'Assal Al-Muradi said:
I heard the Messenger of Allah say, ‘There is no one who exits his home in order to seek knowledge but that the angels lower their wings in approval of his action.’

Lessons:
1. Seeking knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim.
2. Muslims who leave their homes for the sake of seeking knowledge will have the favour of the angels. Rasulullah (ﷺ) taught us a supplication to gain beneficial knowledge:
It was narrated from Umm Salamah that when the Prophet (ﷺ) performed the fajar prayer (morning prayer), when he gave the salam, he would say, ‘O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.’
Narrated by Ibnu Majah
Grade: Sahih (authentic)

Let’s instill compassion in ourselves by persistently seeking knowledge. Allocate time to attend gatherings of knowledge such as halaqah, katibah, daurah, kuliah, talks, tazkirah, seminars and conventions.
May the angels constantly spread their wings over us and may we be showered with the blessings of Allah.
