Narrated Mikhnaf ibn Sulaym:
We were staying with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) at Arafat; he said: O people, every family must offer a *sacrifice* and an atirah *every year*. Do you know what the ateerah is? It is what you call the Rajab sacrifice.
Abu Dawud said: 'Ateerah has been abrogated, and this tradition is an abrogated one (abolished).

Learnings:
1. We have entered the month of Zulkaedah. We have about a month left before the coming of Eidul Adha where one of the practices required of Muslims is the worship of sacrifices.
2. Based on the hadith above, some scholars believe that sacrificial worship is a kifayah sunnah for every house (a sunnah that is highly demanded).
In the Mazhab Syafie, this sacrificial worship is the *Sunnah Muakkad*.
For Imam Abu Hanifah and scholars of the Hanafi school have established that slaughtering a sacrifice is Obligatory once a year for people who are muqim and are able to afford it.
3. This sacrificial worship is part of the religious ritual to commemorate the sacrifice of the Prophet of Allah Ibrahim and Ishmael. Carrying out this act of worship will raise the awareness to always spend wealth and make sacrifices solely to elevate the religion of Allah.
4. Come on those who have not yet reserved a portion for the sacrifice, there is still a chance to participate. *If we miss the opportunity to sacrifice this year, we are not sure if we would be able to do it again next year*.
